LINE BK Reports Continued H1 Growth, Reinforcing Its Role as an “Everyday Financial Partner”

Surpassed 8.8 million total customers in H1 2026, with approximately 931,000 lending customers
Expanded access to financial services through a new brand campaign and the launch of a “Refer a Friend” feature
August 3, 2026 – LINE BK announced that its customer base surpassed 8.8 million as of the first half of 2026. Representing a 12% year-on-year increase, the figure underscores LINE BK’s steady growth in Thailand’s digital finance market.

By integrating core financial services—including banking, lending and insurance—within the LINE application, LINE BK continues to expand its customer base on the strength of its accessibility and reliability. Its lending customer base grew 15% year-on-year to approximately 931,000 as of the first half of 2026, while total outstanding loans exceeded THB 29 billion.

■ Expanded Financial Access Through a Brand Campaign and “Refer a Friend” Feature

LINE BK has recently rolled out a new campaign and feature aimed at expanding financial access. Its integrated brand campaign, “When Money Gets Tight, LINE BK Gets You Through,” promotes the convenience of digital lending services while raising awareness of legal and responsible borrowing—part of the company’s continued commitment to making formal financial services more accessible to customers.

The company also introduced a new “Refer a Friend” feature. Existing lending customers can conveniently share their referral code with family and friends through the LINE application, and once a referred customer completes a loan application and contract, both the referrers and referees can receive cashback rewards. Since launch, more than 10,000 customers have participated in the campaign.

■ Enhanced Credit Assessment Model with Alternative Data Analytics

LINE BK is also actively continuing its investment in technology. Since its inception, the company has operated “KLINE Score,” a proprietary credit assessment model that draws on a range of non-financial data for loan screening. The model allows more comprehensive evaluation of the repayment capability for customers who previously faced limited access to formal lending due to insufficient loan or credit-card history, helping more customers manage their finances with greater stability.

■ Expansion of the Digital Insurance Portfolio Through Strategic Partnership

LINE BK continues to strengthen its digital insurance portfolio through its strategic partnership with Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited, one of Thailand’s leading life insurers. Earlier this year, it launched “CI Care Plus,” a comprehensive cancer insurance product offering coverage of up to THB 5 million for both inpatient and outpatient treatment. Within just one month of launch, the product contributed approximately 15% of total insurance premium sales for the latest month, reflecting positive customer response.

Meanwhile, LINE BK believes the gradual rollout of Virtual Banks in Thailand marks another important milestone in the country's digital financial landscape. Greater competition is expected to accelerate innovation and further improve access to digital financial services.

Against this evolving landscape, LINE BK will continue strengthening its role as an “Everyday Financial Partner” by developing intuitive digital experiences, customer-centric products and responsible financial solutions.

“In an era where liquidity management has become essential, customers are not necessarily looking for the highest credit limit—they want financial solutions that are easy to access, convenient to use and enable them to manage repayments responsibly according to their financial circumstances,” said Tana Pothikamjorn, Chief Executive Officer of KASIKORN LINE Company Limited. “LINE BK aims to expand access to formal financial services in step with customers’ needs and to support them in building long-term financial resilience.”

“The competitiveness of digital finance depends on how effectively financial barriers can be lowered in customers’ everyday lives,” said Kim Young Eun (Sunny), COO of LINE Financial and Chairman of the Board of Directors of KASIKORN LINE. “By leveraging the strength of the LINE ecosystem and data-driven technology, we aim to build a more convenient financial experience and respond to the evolving financial needs of Thai customers over the long term.”
